June Gracey 1920 - 2016
June and Nigel Gracey June Helen Gracey was born June Hollick, daughter to Gladys and Arthur Hollick . Gladys (1890 - 1962) was the eldest of Alfred and Ellen Herbert's four daughters, her siblings being Beatrice (1892 -1969), Doris (1894 - 1969) and Phyllis (1896 - 1972). They are pictured here in a pony and trap c.1900. June was brought up in Stoneleigh while her father worked at Alfred Herbert Ltd. She was a debutante and was presented at Court . In September 1941 she married Major Milo Vapenik , a Czech officer and they had a son Gavin (1942 - 2012) who attended Stowe a few years ahead of Piers, and a daughter, Jane (b.1952).
